SERVICE HIGH SCHOOL PTSA 2017-2018 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
We funded school clubs and departments totaling $24,545.
Helped initiate the installation of the new gym lights.
$3,000 to help pay for the replacement of the original diving blocks and backstrokes ledges
They were originally installed in 1982
$4,000 to the Nordic Ski Team which provided 100 racing suits
$3,828 to help fund the NJROTC video equipment
This equipment is used school-wide and is not just used for the NJROTC
$928 to the Boy's Basketball team to help pay for new basketballs
$500 to the SHS Hockey Team for hockey jerseys which were auctioned off as a fundraiser for the SHS Partner’s Club
$500 to Library in order to replace Service Cougar logo machine
Donated 20 hats from the Cougar Cache to students that were selling Frito Pies on Fridays
$950 for the Freshman class BBQ and Peer Mentorship
$1,000 to Student Government and Freshman class for End of Year Pig Roast
$1,500 to ProStart for chef coats and classic blazers for competitions
$450 to PLTW computer pathway for 15 webcams
New computerized 2D and 3D animation program at SHS
$465 to the Fine Arts Department for Scholastic Art entry fees for statewide competition
$764 to the PE Department to replace 10-year-old broken weightlifting equipment
Equipment wasn’t safe for our students to use anymore.
$160 to Counseling Department to replace Keurig machine and purchase a hot water kettle
$400 to have zoo experts present zoo animals to classrooms
$500 for PAWS award
$800 to provide buses for Senior Fun Day to Kincaid Park
$500 for the Honor Graduates ceremony
$250 for refreshments and gifts to those who participated in the Bike To Work Day
$200 to have ProStart provide food at both Open House and parent/teacher conferences
$5,000 to Mr. Hauser for the Principal fund
Takeovers: $7,395 to various clubs and teams that worked in the Cougar Cache
These clubs and teams receive a portion of the proceeds made that day
Currently we have 100 PTSA members: 52 Parents, 28 teachers, 20 students.
