WHO WE ARE: The Service High School (SHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a non-profit organization whose primary objective is to enhance the educational, social, emotional, and physical well being of students who attend SHS.
Our membership is OPEN TO ALL INDIVIDUALS (e.g., parents, grandparents, foster parents, guardians, staff, teachers, coaches, students, community members, neighbors, etc.) who want to support the students and staff at SHS.
VISION: Make every child's potential a reality.
MISSION:
To be a powerful voice for all children
To be a relevant resource for families and communities
To be a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child
WHAT WE DO:
We collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, students, staff, and the community to advocate for the well-being of all of our students
We work directly with the principal, staff, teachers, and students to help set priorities for programs and funding
We raise funds, primarily through the Cougar Cache, to support SHS priorities that otherwise will not be available
We sponsor events throughout the year, such as teacher appreciation luncheons, to enrich the working environment of our SHS teachers and staff and enhance the high school experience for SHS students
FUNDING SOURCES:
PTSA’s major income source is the Cougar Cache (school store) operated by volunteers five days a week during lunch. All profits generated by the Cougar Cache go back to benefit our students.
The PTSA also gets funds from friends and families linking their Fred Meyer Rewards Card with SHS PTSA. The PTSA receives quarterly checks based upon how much the enrollees spend at Fred Meyer. This program does not affect the rebate, coupons, gas discount or the other rewards an individual receives. To link to the SHS PTSA, go to your Fred Meyers Rewards Account and click on the REGISTER button in the top right corner of the page. Then "Click" on the "Link your rewards card now" to enroll and choose #88284 Service High School PTSA. Thank you!
